Hi everyone,

I'm Dave and run a sign & digital print company in Salford, Manchester with my dad. Our main business is vehicle graphics and large format print, along with small format digital.

We used to offer t-shirt printing when we operated from a retail unit, and I got fed up with the requests for a single t-shirt, and it would never be the colour or size we had in stock!

Now operating from an industrial unit, we're undertaking more commercial work, and our supplier for printed clothing, and Dye Sub work has gotten busier and busier, and now doesn't really want to be doing our smaller volume, lower margin 'trade' work.

He did however take me down to the Print & Promotion show at the NEC, and showed me all the things we can print, and what we'd need to get up and running, so we've now got added to our arsenal of machinery a Sawgrass SG800, with the optional bypass tray for A3+, a mug press, and heat press.

Turns out printing mugs isn't as easy as I first thought, having demolished half a box of mugs in an afternoon messing around with it. Although our helpful supplier/friend has pointed me in the right direction.

I thought I'd join up as I'm sure we're going to hit a few snags on this learning curve.

Cheers
Dave
