printer driver and ICC profile issues. Macbook, Illustrator, Photoshop
Re: printer driver and ICC profile issues. Macbook, Illustrator, Photoshop
Quick point that I should mention, I did read yesterday that it is impossible to turn off colour management completely as your rgb colours need to be converted to cmyk to be within the colour gamut that your printer uses, though I guess that is what the icc profile is supposed to do, as you are aware there is no option for this with the mac ricoh driver, and the only option I found that would effect the colours that I print were in the cameo studio driver, which allowed me to alter individual colours going to the printer, if I don't find the solution I will just buy another Ricoh sd3100dn and sawgrass inks and use their power driver and convert this one back to the original inks. but I haven't given up yet , will keep you posted.

can you not use the sawgrass inks in your Rocoh rather than buying another.....??

Yes I could but as my canon inkjet is now playing up, blocked head white lines through image etc, yet the test line print is perfect, I figured I could replace the canon with another ricoh and then I have a clean printer that has never had ink in it so i could buy the sawgrass inks and that would leave me with two brand new sets of ink that come with the ricoh, does that make sense ! I know the sawgrass inks are expensive and to be honest I wish I had bought them now instead of the cityink inks as i would not be having this problem now, lesson learnt I think.

I didn't think there was a PowerDriver for OSX? Don't Sawgrass also just supply an ICC profile?
If you can't turn off all colour management in the print driver, then Photoshop/Illustrator will be using the ICC to correct colours for your sublimation inks, and then the printer driver will be correcting the colours AGAIN assuming it has Ricoh inks in it.

I think I have resolved my issue, my colours whilst not as bright as my inkjet produces but at least my greens are now green etc, should have read the instructions that came with the profile a little more carefully, happy to email the instructions I got if you want them chris, it has all the settings for photoshop, elements, illustrator etc, many thanks pisquee for your help
