Can anyone shed any light on this problem.
mugs made in a 3d heat press are all coming out with a wide grey line by the handle.
the grey marks are effecting the visible part of the mug when the mug has been put into the silicone 3d mug clamp.
why is this happening. Either it's just started happening or I haven't noticed it until now.
I've tried putting the 3d press on vacuum to extract any ink gas but it's not made any difference.

many someone knows the answer.
many thanks.

That I do believe is ink still in the 3d printer from previous uses. There is a thread on here somewhere about how to get rid of it. Maybe doing a search in the 3d section may find it for you.
Many thanks
Iain

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.

Yup, had this problem when trying to print large batches of mugs in an oven instead of lots of presses. The problem is that sublimation inks work by turning into a gas - and that gas escapes from your transfer paper and floats around the oven getting onto any exposed areas of mugs. The only way we found around this was that the paper transfer needed to be sealed all around with tape - this was an expensive amount of tape and staff time wrapping the mugs well enough. We weren't using a vacuum oven, but if you are, and can get the vacuum up high enough to suck out all the gassing inks, you may get away with it.

Adjusting time and temperature will also help.

For example, if I do 12 mugs at 15 minutes I will get the band, cutting the time to 14 minutes and it disappears.
