This should be good.....
Re: This should be good.....

now, on one side, we have the BUY EXPENSIVE FIRST, DONT BUY AGAIN camp, and....
on the other side we have the BUY CHEAPER AND CHUCK IT AFTER 2 YR camp...

basically, this will be MY personal view on this.....
one heat press is twice the price of the other one....and you got to ask yourself...WHY

Re: This should be good.....
back.....right.....first i aint endorsing anything here...is ONLY my view and nothing more
on the cheap corner we have.....
40x50cm HIGH PRESSURE SEMI-AUTO Heat Press
*Slide out lower platen, for ease of garment placing.
*Hydraulic mechanism also ensures smooth auto-opening
*24 Month RTB warranty
COST incl del £419 - BELOW >>>>
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/40x50cm-HIGH- ... 419a293af3
on the more expensive corner we have.....
Galaxy DP100 Heat Press : 16" x 20"
*same slide out lower platen
*same hydraulic mechanism also ensures smooth auto-opening
*2yr warranty on whole machine/lifetime on heating element
COST incl del £954 - BELOW >>>>
http://subliblanks.com/printers-and-hea ... Auto-Slide
NOW my friends.....without actually buying both and trying them, this is ONLY an assumption here...
BUT.....
BOTH are made in china...the way it looks to me is....
the galaxy is a tarted up version with some extra fancy plastic moldings added here n there, and a jazzy colour scheme to make it look WOW...and it does look in yer face nice. strip all the **** away from it and you left with >>>>yep a basic flat bed heat press
so where does it warrant paying well over double the price for the fancy name and added fancy plastic ?
so my lovely forum friends...what you all think ?
i,m asking because we want to purchase another heat press that has auto/semi open and slide our lower drawer to be able to do t-shirts more easy...heat press's we have now are 40x50 but they the wrong way round for placing t-shirt onto, and we have burnt our hand many times..and thats not on....
DING DING...GLOVES ON.....LETS GO....

Re: This should be good.....
I think you've answered this yourself, you're comparing 2 very similar Chinese made presses.
Now compare a new Adkins Beta, an older Adkins Beta and a new Pressmech......run with them all for 5 years and give us your feedback

HI JUSTIN
but what warrants the massive jump in price for the galaxy machine, beside what i already mentioned ?
Re: This should be good.....
not bringing down the galaxy at all (much), but it seems tad pricey and because its new, everyone is like...OOOOJustin;109442 wrote:Nothing, nada. Fancy paint-job like you say.
so.....
i suppose, same as the ricohs, i will just have to buy one and report back how its doing

Re: This should be good.....
At that price you're starting to get close to Adkins/Pressmech so I see no point in heading off into the unknown.

Re: This should be good.....
16x20 is standard size, Adkins Beta can be bought second hand for £400-£500, ok you're going over the £1k mark for both presses new.
Re: This should be good.....
Ouch, that galaxy's top colour hurts my eyes. Based on that alone I would buy the cheaper one. If spending the higher amount I would look at the options Justin gave.
