Machine differances

Hi
Just wondering if anybody has used any of these two machines.
They look very similar one was made in shefield uk and the other china i think sunfly.
Any advice grately appreciated.

The Pictaflex is an early SubliDeck machine made in the UK. The Chinese bought a Sublideck and tried to copy it. Not tried the Chinese machine other than knowing they used sub-standard parts compared to the SubliDeck machine, but that is reflected in the price.

Thank u for the reply.
So if u where starting out would you choose the pictaflex if u could get a second hand one for around 800 pounds "not that much usage" with Epson printer.
Or would u opt for the Chinese model at 600 with around 1000 cases and more pucks and a backup mini sub machine oven..

I think I'm leaning over quality over quantity as I'm sure I would have more support for the pictaflex if anything went wrong .

The only I issue I can see with the Pictaflex is that its an early model. The machine is now called Sublideck and has gone through a few revisions and upgrades. I believe the early models had issues with even heat displacement in the oven which could affect the print on the phone case. I've never tried one of the early models so I'm not sure how much of an issue this was or if it only affected certain phone case models. It could be that the pictaflex you are looking at has had the hardware and software upgrades but it might be worth you delving a bit deeper before you commit. i would also contact Marvelpress who now supply the SubliDeck machines and see if they still support the older Pictaflex models.

Emailed marvelpress and they said it wasnt one of there machines.
I let them no the seller told me he purchased it from them and he said by looking at it,it wasnt one of there machines.
He said if it was it was before there time.
So the seller is telling porkies?
I assume there is only one marvelpress in shefield.

It would have been bought from Octitech who then turned into MarvelPress so perhaps they stopped supporting the Pictaflex after the company changed names. I doubt anyone who worked for Octitech is still working for MP so the guy you spoke to probably isn't aware of the link.

Totally understand this. I want to start with cases but also move onto plates plaques mugs jigsaws ect.
There must be a huge market for phone cases even though there are lots doing it?

There is a good market but it's competing with the very low cost imports that is the problem and our high postage costs.

Premium cases, with correct marketing can be an awesome market. Once away from the same old stuff there are all sorts of options, and prices are aimed at the top end market hence £25 plus. Everything from the website to the phone number must say "Quality".
If I was prepared to put more time into the business I would hit that route. I don't like working hard anymore, so not interested in the time required to market it properly and go down that road.
