Re: help trying to user powerdriver with ricoh sg3110

Hi, ive just recently started out so everything is a learning curve. was using corel printing direct to the ricoh and most things ok except I've just done 2 IPhone cases of spaniels and the brown faces are well ... crappy! sort of reddy brown that almost slightly blurs - went on to sawgrass inks and saw they have a powerdriver software which supposedly helps with colours so have installed this and followed all the instructions to the letter - sent it off to print and my ricoh just keeps saying

Custom Size
IJ Plain Paper

Change Setting
Tray 1

Its A4 - the document is set on A4, the paper in the printer is A4 - I just can't work out what is going wrong - can anyone help or even point me in the right direction of getting the colours right - some of the pics are coming out a little too yellow as well if that suggests a problem.

I did a nozzle test and all seems to be well - sooooo frustrated at the moment.

Do a you tube search for conde sublimation videos. In amongst them you will find all you need with screen shots and explanations. Much better then somebody trying to explain here. Only relevant if you are using Sawgrass ink

Where did you buy the printer from?
Never heard that, nor see why windows would have to be a business edition.
If you have followed the set up then from Corel you should be using powerdriver to print not the ricoh.

Follow the videos, not just for setting up the printer, but also for printing from coreldraw using the powerdriver.

Are you using sawgrass ink? If you are not, then powerdriver will be no help to you.

Hi Yes, bought a whole load of stuff secondhand and have been doing ok so far but teaching myself mostly through mistakes and youtube lol -yes sawgrass inks and they were great, they did a remote access to my computer, deleted the drivers reinstalled the drivers and power driver etc etc but then said that my windows 7 home edition was the problem - I really don't see why myself but can't really answer that. Basically I have 2 pc's my new one which is what I thought I was going to do all the work on, that is windows 10 but the CorelDraw X4 I purchased won't work on Windows 10 and I don't want to fork out another £500 for the latest corel so my last pc was still here as only just changed at xmas so wiped that and reinstalled windows 7 so that the corel x4 is on there - I also bought a versacamm 300i at the same time and so have now connected that and installed versaworks for that all on the windows 7 pc but when I send it to print it just disappears into thin air and then my pc comes with a message about something having an argument and I close the message and the print job just never happens if that makes sense? I can print directly from corel to the Ricoh so I know the link is there - its so frustrating but if sawgrass can't do it what hope is there for me.

My back up laptop is windows 7 home edition, and that works with my ricoh and powerdriver, although I am Coreldraw X6, but I don't see why that would make a difference. The versaworks hiccup would suggest that it is windows, but no idea why.

Alas I am of no further use to you.

My only thought is find somebody close to you with the ricoh, go to them, and get them to look at the installation with you just in case you have missed a tick box.

i have windows 10 and use corel x6 it works fine, but with a few issues, which will no doubt be sorted over time, the main one being that the top toolbar is hidden, but when you hover over it the "file" "edit" "view" "layout" etc are visible under the mouse, apparently its a known problem. its a shame there is no one near to you, as it looks like one of those things, which is simple, if you know where you are looking. have you got A4 on the corel paper settings ?
