hello this must be the dumbest question ever but here goes ive foud a t shirt supplyer that can get me what they call disposable low cost t shirts for one use made from 100% cotton with a gsm of 135 ho sorry they cost 30p before vat {can some one explain the gsm 135 part please and whats good }i did asked once before about giving these shirts away as promotional showing off some of my work but was told it would be bad for me to do that because of the poor quity of the t shirts ? people want not come back so what are these t shirts for test print shirt to photo and show online or hen nights any advice please

personally, i would not touch them with a barge pole....unless you have the hen / stag market, but even then,like justin says, better quality for little extra.

me personally, i use the gildan heavy weight ones all time - not much extra from supplier.

if its for your first t-shirt order, first impressions count, even for the cheap hen and stag nights !!.....


note: i dont do any hen / stag nights, hence the better quality t's

GSM - grams per square meter.
so like guys ^ said, this is very low quality. i wouldn't print anything less then 170gsm. mind that i did for church once, 150gsm but they did supply them. it was veryyyyy thin material

I agree with most above, ... thou do question any tshirts less than £1 .....
BUT - I would argue that you cannot judge the quality of a fabric by its weight ........
The case being that short fat fibres cost less than fine long ones ..... think hessian sacking (short fat) and silk (long fine)
If you only looked at gsm then hessian sacking would appear better quality than silk ..... yet silk despite being much much thinner will be significantly strongerm, longer lasting, and nicer to wear ..... though significantly more costly.
Many of the highstreet 'disposable' clothes shops fool shoppers with thick feel tshirts that are made of short fat fibres ..... they feel 'expensive' but will wash & wear like S**t
If I found a source of 30p shirts i would probably buy a few cartons for those occasions when cheap is the big priority, - like freshers week pub crawls ....

i didnt mean use the heavy T's for the hen / stag night lol...bugger that, cheap n cheerful for that stuff, but at 0.30 + vat, there has to be some sort of quality issues with those t's to get sold off at those prices IMHO.

but as you know, everyone has there own interpretation of "good quality", be it from a customer or supplier point of view

biggest issue you may find is that you will be still using the same garment film to decorate them, so they end up looking like sh*t as they cannot carry the weight of the film, and also how do you move up in quality on 1 element but use the same on the other, if that makes sense. i do stag and hen t's but would not go below a t that is offered by a mainstream brand. however, if i was going to sub on them, or a cheap transfer print, for a charity or something, and it was done at a throwaway price ie less than about £2/3 selling, then i would use those.

If they are to show off your work, then print up some t's using good stuff, and get friends and family to wear them, in exchange for photographing them for the website

If it is to show off you work, I always use small T's - easier to display and artwork looks bigger!

The GSM refers to the weight (Grams Per Square Metre.) So the thickness of your materiel really. We print Premium quality Photos/canvas at 300/350GSM - Standard @260. If you think of a really cheap poster, then that's printed at about 100GSM
I really don't know what the hell you would want such a lightweight material for, but my advice is to stay away from this. You will be known for the products you produce, even if you give them away, beware......
