swing away heatpress

hi GUYS AND GALS. just wondering what swing away heatpress you are using, how much and recommend please. cant cope with this thing anymore.!!!!:mad:

I have a large one which is made bespoke for me its approx 620 x 470 and costs circa £1550 + vat made in England.
I also have a smaller Magic Touch one which ar around £1200 + vat was made in England.

Both are very good and relaible however the newest aadkins one are made in china so not so sure.

Adkins Adkins Adkins - i have 3 of them, and been using em since 1990 - v good imho

Press Mech - have used Adkins, Insta, Jarin and unbranded, and have to say the Press Mechs have excelled everything else - we now have 4 of them!

I've a newer Adkins beta maxi swing http://www.aadkins.com/maxi.php they maybe also be branded MagicTouch or Xpres as they resell them. Reliable, heavy and well made with an even temperature all across the heating element. Fairly straightforward machines with a helpful UK based manufacturer who also supplies replacement components should anything fail or will take it in for repairs if your not a handy sort. On ebay or wherever you look for used they go for around £500, less for older ones more for newer. You wont see a used preshmech come up anywhere near as often if at all but I've heard good things about them. If however your feeling flush and buying new then you could try out both and see which you think suits your needs the best.

Got several presses but most used is the Adkins Major pneumatic 38x50cm.

Main reason for the pneumatic is that much of our work requires very heavy pressure and our ladies are rather lightweight and would have difficulty closing a manual press and also you cant close it without having both hands out of the way and it opens automatically on time without knocking all their teeth out.

wow. thanks guys. i will try and pin one of the suppliers for a show deal at printwear and promotion. has worked quite well when buy new machines.

Adkins used to be UK manufactured, but as far as I know it's all made in China now. PressMech still produce in UK though, and Dickie (who makes them is very helpful, and has just serviced two of ours and they're like new again)

I'd assume people buying a PressMech are serious about buying a decent press, and/or they hang on to them as they are so good. In saying that, they do come up on Ebay, maybe once every couple of months, but usually the ones on Ebay aren't sold as PressMechs as there is nothing on the press that says it's make or model, so people selling them don't know. We've grabbed a couple off there for about £50, and the other two for about £250 - it's not often they go this cheap, but if it looks like they will we usually try and get them, hence why we have the four, 3 of them currently in use, and one is spare.
