Re: Website security
That's good to hear! Some of the national retailers that get hit quite often are losing tens of thousands a day.
Re: Website security
I have had so many of my sites attacked and taken down that I decided to install the security that is now in place. And I am glad I did. Some of my sites were hit and porn put all over them!
One particular site, which is set up for a charity that helps ex-offenders is actually under attack 24/7 and was brought down so many times that I lost count, until I put this security plug in place. Now all that happens is that they still attack but the IP is automatically blocked and all their software attack does is to hit a brick wall.

Re: Website security
We have to understand tho that ddos on small company's is just an annoyance really, as we don't have the sort of capital that huge company's have, we have to be aware more over XSS, SQL and interception attacks, I see alpt of small ecommerce sites that are built in a way that they still allow packet interception and manipulation between the website front end and the server, allowing things like prices etc to be changed before the checkout process is completed

Re: Website security
Be interested to know of the blocking program used, for WordPress there are various plugins available to curtail attempted logins after x n of failed attempts and you can limit the ip addresses that can try to login via browsers with entries into your htaccess file.

Re: Website security
You would have to block at firewall level so before your actual web server deals with any traffic. Olly
