FOAM KIT FOR T SHIRTS - makes creases vanish!
Re: FOAM KIT FOR T SHIRTS - makes creases vanish!
Can anyone tell me where in the UK I can purchase some foam sheets to lay over t shirts on the heat press to avoid crease marks.
I watched a video and at 2.44 mins they illustrate how it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhJj5mVJ1yU
The problem is Vapor aren't based in the UK and it's European distributors don't sem to feature it on their web sites

Just look like the medium density foam I get from eBay for packaging. You can get 'pillows' in the UK that do the same job.
eg. http://www.xpres.co.uk/p-9018-textile-t ... xpres.aspx
Just noticed in the 'similar threads' section at the top this has been asked previously

I also asked about using this foam set here http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum/sh ... post105316
my concern was that it probably wouldn't fit under an Adkins Beta swing press as there isn't much clearance on the standard model so you probably need to take into consideration the type of heat press (swing or clam) and it's available clearances
Mark.

Thanks Mark - Did you use a Teflon Pillow in the end and does it work? The link to Xpress shows some but they are very expensive - I looked the same item up on ebay where one can buy it individual sizes http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PTFE-Teflon-P ... 1WilBJZXwA
If I went for the largest for my Adkins press - would this be okay for smaller items?
Best

There is a BIG difference in the low pressure required for sublimation and the sometimes VERY HEAVY pressure required for some heat transfer mediums and vinyls.

Hi Bruno, no I didn't bother as I wasn't sure they would comfortably fit under the press but the xpres set are better value than the yolo set you list which is twice the price a set. Mayne Justin could try some of his packing foam and if successful we can follow his lead! The silicone foam I used from ebay works okay but is a lot denser and firmer than I imagine these pillows would be.

We have used the Teflon pillows with our Adkins beta maxi no problems. We also use mouse mat fabric that we bought by the metre from The Transfer Press. Cut into the sizes we need. It works well.
Cheers

Did you compare prices for buying a full set off that ebay seller? As a premium member you should get some discount off those as well but you'd need to double check that.Bruno;106121 wrote: I looked the same item up on ebay where one can buy it individual sizes http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PTFE-Teflon-P ... 1WilBJZXwA

The mouse mat fabric looks like a good affordable idea Kath, thanks for sharing and confirming that the pillows work with the adkins beta maxi press
