Re: Sticky Flock

I am looking to buy sticky flock for rhinestone for the silhouette cameo cutter. I found www.yolo.co.uk. Is there any where else you can buy it, I have tried for hours, I've even watch Paul ( I think it was him) showing you how to make your own. But I don't have bits of vinyl to make my own. I did wonder if it was worth buy in them and forgetting the sticky flock and do it Paul's way, if it was cost effective, but I have never done rhinestone before so a little out of my depth. Thanks in advance

Hi Jenny

I have not tried Pauls method yet, but I have used the pink sticky flock from Yolo. IMHO it is the best you can buy. I have some black from Brother very similar looking to the pink flock, but it does not work half as well.

if you are just staring out with Rhinestones (mind even if you have been using them for awhile) I would recommend going to You Tube and put a search in for The Rhinestone World. They have loads of great videos from using the pink flock to lessons on CorelDraw, the Silhouette Cameo software as well as their own software. Also if you go to their website they have a couple of pages of free designs. Mind don't go looking at the designs and fonts they have for sale or you might be in trouble......LOL....;)

Thanks for that. I went to the shop on Sunday, normally I'm closed but I had some orders to finish. I watch loads on youtube. I brought the cutter for work and to be honest I am surprised at how much I'm loving it. I see they have a tray with some sort of material in it and what is the reason for that. I see there is different sizes in rhinestones so I'll have to watch and read about that.

I managed to do my own stencil material with easier way then on my video. I must have about 4 maybe 5m roll here 50cm wide.
I don't do rhinestones any more so i probably put that on ebay or for sale section.

Good video Paul.

Jenny on that video they have made a work table using some of the sticky flock as a base. When I get around to it I'm going to make one from a white board.
yes there are several sizes of stone 6ss 10ss16ss 20ss. The 10ss seems to be the most popular. The Rhinestone World have videos showing you how to make the templates using the different size of stones and using different colours on the same design. Matt makes it look very easy
