OKI 711WT demonstration. What questions?
Re: OKI 711WT demonstration. What questions?
This coming Wednesday I will be at a TMT demonstration of the above. What questions should I go armed with, what should I ask to see?

Ask them to print an image YOU TAKE with a white background something they have not prepared. See if the colours dull down after white is underneath this i believe is a common issue.

Depends what you are thinking of printing on...... ceramics or fabric. The book covers are good BUT the unit price of the blanks makes them too expensive to sell many. Make up a test print to send to Adam a day or two ahead of time small fonts and fine like 1pt lines etc you will be surprised how fine you can go, on the small print the test is if the eye is filled or not a e b d p etc but that will only be a problem with the 2 sheet processes where the whitish adhesive fills the very small holes.
The only other thing is the price you have to weigh that up against how often you will need to use either white toner as part of your design OR as a backing for light colours on a dark background to make them visible. Toner is a little painful at £165/£312 a pop for toner but there is no waste (well next to) and no maintenance cleaning cycles using it up. I'd have one if it were not for the daft price that's why I went for the other white laser option which has not been used since last november.

Another point to bear in mind is that the toner that comes with the printer are not normal full carts but charger carts so will appear not to print anywhere near the page count that you would expect and down the road DON'T be tempted to put compatible toner in it.

I may stand corrected, but I am pretty sure the OKI from TMT does come with standard "full" carts.
Using TMT's Colourspace will save you buckets loads of toner.

I'm not 100% sure normal new OKI's don't TMT's might be different but thought the normal colours were standard carts.
Ask Adam he will know or find out.... bloody good bloke, got a lot of time for Adam.

Our starter carts lasted ages.
I would take a sample image that is ALL WHITE, - and get it pressed onto a very dry cotton top, - see how it peels off the carrier paper when 1st applied.
