Re: Epson wf3010

Post by ivansmagic »

Hi All,

I am using an Epson WF3010 for sublimation printing. I am using refillable cartridges with compatible ink. Up until now it has been working perfectly but now the cyan is printing a more lilac colour. I have cleaned the heads several times and have also changed the cartridge in case the one I had in was faulty.

Does anyone know what the problem could be and how I can fix this ? I am using the same ink as I was when it was working fine.

Any help would be appreciated

Mags, thaks for the offer of help. What you said about the ink got me thinking. I have a few bottles of Cyan as I dont seem go go through as much and usually buy them as full sets. So I flushed the cartridge and tried it with a new bottle, then nothing came through at all so I guessed the print head was clogged ( as Epsons do ). I put some magic bullet in and left it over night, ran a few prints of blue in high quality rather than cleaning the heads, and hey presto, im up and running again. It may just have been that the bottle of Cyan was to old.

Epson are also replacing me my fairly new WF7110 tomorrow. They say things come in 3's so my mini 3d vacuum machine I use for mugs gave up the ghost today, but I will negotiate with Signzworld to get it replaced as its under warranty....i think.

Thanks for the offer of help though

sounds more like your cart needed re-priming after changing the ink over than a head blockage.

Guys, Could you tell me whether the Epson WF3010 is good for photo printing on heat transfer paper. I tried on Neenah Jer pro SS, it was all smudged when I sent the printer at Epson Matt paper, High quality print. Lower quality was rather grainy. The printer is great for other vector images.
If not WF3010, what do you use? What would you recommend (Preferably A3 printing capable and possible to use OEM dyes from good suppliers.)
Thanks
