Re: Embroidery.

Post by NikGrey »

I am starting up a new business "Links Repair Shop" (on Links Avenue) and will be making the signs myself of course.

I want to be able to sew Hook and Loop systems into my uniform so I can take a patch off of something I am about to wash and put it onto a freshly laundered uniform (yes, I like Uniform in a public business..lol).

SO, I am considering Embroidered Patches that I can swap from garment to Garment.

Could those who have the gear please let me have some rough prices - I would like White Twill with a dark Blue border and:

I may change the font yet (and spacing) but this is enough for your pricing needs hopefully. I will be using the Metamark 'Mid Blue' (M7-154) for my colour.

I think I will need these sizes:

200mm x
(what ever the height is without it going out of proportion)
80mm x
(what ever the height is without it going out of proportion)
Five of each, and if you can't sew the velcro onto the back no problem as I have people who can do that.

Prices please (inc postage to NR13).

Nik.

Nik, if you do not want embroidery then the below might be of use. You can purchase blanks and sublimate them....

Hi Nik.
Have been following this thread. I would be more than happy to help you out with these as the embroidery side is not a particularly difficult job .The problem is not with the size of patch you require but with the Qty. As social giraffe states you can get the ready range which is where I normally go for mine but you would have to buy a minimum Qty of 25 of each size and once you have paid VAT and postage you would be looking at a total of ( wait for it ) £72.00 I like Golden Finishes but there not the cheapest They would be able to do the exact size you want and also in the colours you want but at a price. So unless you can find some one with them as a stock item its a difficult one. Nik I can get you a patch from a local supplier near me but they only do single colour and not in the sizes you were asking for but if your interested let me know. and I can buy these in singles

Hi All,
I sorted the above problem by using vinyl pressed onto 50mm Cotton Tape with velcro on the back.

I have been very busy indeed, since I started this thread I have completely split from my partner (it's messy - courts are involved, she is underhand) and moved back into my own house :) I had to give my Tenants 2 Months to find a new place so was kind of stuck with the ex :)
Only yesterday I (with s small team) poured a 4x7M concrete Pad (300mm deep with the hardcore) for the Workshop Base (That was a VERY HARD JOB).

So, now I am in the process of sourcing the rest of the materials to build the thing - I know where to get everything just working out deals etc.

I will still be around, ready to make things for the members here :) I still receive notifications from the forum so I do see replies etc.
I just feel that I will be in complete control of my own workshop - no more relying on others as I couldn't really afford the machinery I needed
(Versacamm etc) but I already have the gear for my workshop so almost there.

Here's my website if anybody is interested: www.linksrepairshop.co.uk

I have made some good friends here and I want to keep in touch.

Hi Nik,
Good luck with whatever you are doing now.
Split from partner: Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, etc etc. Good luck.

My new Business is absolutely THRIVING :)

I am selling my Adkins to pay for a new Blade Sharpening Machine and a Circular Saw Sharpening Machine (Tungsten Tooth Variety).

Will refrain from posting the ebay ad for my Press as it will sell quickly as it has the Stand included in the sale.

I must say though that this forum was a vital tool when I was in the Sublimation/Vinyl business and I send all new peope here. this is a great resource and I have met some vaulable new contacts.. I must say that the Giraffe chap is shaping up to be a friend for life.. top man.
