Hi,
I am printing some ceramic star Christmas decorations. These are double sided.
After I print the first side they look great.
Then I turn them over and print the other side which also looks great.
The problem is that the first side looks all blurry after printing the second side.
When printing the second side I put a sheet of paper on top and then a silicon sheet.
The print is coming off from the first side on to the paper a little which I would expect but the image is going blurry.
Any ideas anyone?
I'm using Ricoh 3110 with Sawgrass Inks with Trupix Classic paper and a George Knight DK20S press

Re: Cermic Star decs
If I press a double sided item I print both sides onto the paper spaced apart so that I can fold the paper and both sides line up. I then tape the whole way around the item and press both sides at the same time, turning once during the press. I takes a couple of presses to work out the best time to press each side but once I find it I make a note and then away we go.
If it says to press for 30 sec then I would start at 25 secs then turn and do another 25 secs and go from there.
Good luck, this game is all about trial and error.

Yes, you'll definitely need to press both sides at the same time in my opinion. What's happening is the temperature is causing the ink to essentially sublimate again on the first side you've done, so it goes blurry. Be very careful with this, as it's very easy to end up with ink all over your platen, if you haven't got something covering it.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll have another play around with them on Monday and let you know how I get on.
