Unisub coasters

this one is bugging the hell outta me...

doing the usual keep calm coasters...print comes out great, deep red, white text on tex print paper....
unisub coaster...all clean, no marks or dust on it....
coaster to paper - onto heat press....60sec, med pressure as always...
out they come....most have tiny black spots on them....just about 2 /3 wee tiny specks ...and it being a red coaster, they stand out a mile...
the company i bought em from said there was no bother with these coasters....

they said it might be my printer.....what....all 4 of them ?..ok, so i went out and bought a brand new epson...just in case...
printed a few ok, then out come the little black specks on coasters..

now i have just bought a shed load of coasters from this company, and i cant for the life of me figure out what the hell is causing this...

nozzle check - fine, no marks at all on the printed paper, no marks on the actual coasters, as i clean then before print..so where are they coming from ?

anyone else getting this ?
is it coaster or printers


this only coasters i DID NOT get this problem was coralgraph coasters, an they are NOT unisub ones, they got the clear film on the, that you p[eel off before print..so they 100% clean
and coral are out of them, have been for week ;-(

Hmm I use unisub and haven't had a problem...but that doesn't mean you don't! Press one with no print and plain white paper, then press a plain one with sub paper, if you get marks on both it must be the coaster, if you get marks on the sub paper one you know it's the sub paper, if both are clean, then it must be the ink.

Just a thought there, feel free to ignore me.........I won't be offended.

ITS THE PAPER !!!!!

TEX PRINT...and i just bought 10pack o the stuff to from UK supplier
back on the phone i go

re done the test with 4 sheets of tex print and 6 coaster on each.....
3 out of the 6 on 1 sheet had black specks, and 2/4 coasters on the other sheets...

how the hell can that happen ?

At least you have an answer as to the cause, no idea though why it should happen other than contamination during manufacture / packing.

yep thats what supplier said as well...

contaminated batch when manufacturer was printing,....getting all returned free and sorted for my troubles/expense
cant ask any more than that

To add to this...
supplier is full of smellys
i use texprint and trupix. I experience same issue with texprint but on the mugs. Now... Someone tell me this is bad bunch for last 10 years???

this is the first time i used this paper for a very long time
have used tru-pix from BMS before and was/is great paper.....just through i would try this tex print......

so you saying these is a major flaw with this paper paul ?

smelly or not, i,m just happy they taking the lot back, and sorting me out for my stress factor and loss of a shed load of bloody coasters trying to sort / find the problem

Oh dear, I have just received an order of Texprint R . Thought I would give it a try. Fingers crossed for no problems.

Good for you John! Thank God it turned out ok for you and you get your pennies back..
I always used TexPrint HR and always had a issue with some small dots printed. only on white thou. I used texprint when more ink release was needed. But yes, I think this is the paper issue and not just a bad batch.
