Hi
I'm finding it really hard to get the filled pencil cases by the transfer press to work! I've taken the pencils out of the lid and don't use any mouse mats etc so its flat but you can't get it in far enough to get heat along the edge where it joins to the other half of the pencil case. A lot of people seem to do these but I'm finding them really hard to get right and have wasted so many all ready. Anyone do these successfully?
Thanks
Lianne

Hi Lianne
What press have you got? Try sublimating something cheap (i.e. a bit of polyester material) in the same part of the edge of the press that you place the pencil case to. That wil guide you to if its the case or the press that needs more attention.
If it is faded on your cheap material then its the press, so try another edge.

That's a good make so it might be a dead spot. Cut up an old t-short or something and see what you get.
Also, when you put the front cover in, do you level up the rest of the case that is not under the press (hopefully I have explained that right
)?

I put the case in the middle of the press and it's sort of at 90 degrees, I try to make sure it's parallel to the platen and as close as I can get it in? is that what you mean? I did your test and overlapped the design to the edge of the platen and the edge was a little blurry down both sides but put that down to being right at the edge. I have spotted that the heat plate overhangs more on the left side than the right and the right side was the side I was using so am going to have another go with the left side! fingers crossed!
Re: Filled Pencil Cases by TTP - Problems!
that didn't work either :frown: where I'm trying to push the case in as far as I can and with the table being in the way the other half of the case isn't exactly 90 degrees so not sure if the heat tape and the spine bit is bunching up and stopping the heat getting to the edge. I manage all the other items fine but they are more flat and go further into the press.
Anyone else here do these?
