I can't believe how uneconomical these are when it comes to repairs. You look at some of the HP printers for example where you can replace the heads yourself. If the Epson needs a new head it's basically throw it away and start again, ridiculous.

The head is reasonably easy to replace.....the cost however is a joke!

Now reached a point where the SS clean is recommended....need to get a new waste tank first as mine is now full....it was only half full at the beginning of this. Even more GRRRR's.

Can you not just empty it and use chip resetter?

Tried that...but my 7600 chip resetter didn't reset the 7890 chip, it now says install waste tank... hence i need a new waste tank, then if the printer works I'll get a chip reset for the 7890.

Not a happy bunny at the moment.

Why dont you try to take the head out and do a reverse blow with some cleaning fluid..this worked for me once..you hve to do it few times...bit of a hard work but why not give it a go..

It gets worse.
The missing chunk in the LC didn't matter with a my stock items, but was an issue with light blue sky etc fro custom work. Anyway new waste tank installed, SS clean done...no change to the LC but now there is no print at all (nothing) from the LLK nozzle.

Not a happy chappy.

Well Sawgrass have confirmed the head is dead....now waiting for a quote to replace the head. I accept this is probably not really going to be an option, but hey might as well see what the quote is.

Then options replace with a second hand unit..new unit, drop down to A3+, hammer my smaller range of printed items...etc etc.
