Jenny

For your first run, put as many different images on one sheet of paper as possible and practice with pressure/times until you get what works for you.

My OH wasted about 6 sheets before we came up with that

I did 4 images on one sheet followed the instructions, it was pants could not get a image not even a poor one, I watched the video so many times I found myself go WOW like the chap does at the end of the video. It was not the wow, it was me I had not flipped one set of the papers  Once I had done that right, the first picture was wow, the second image was good but found loads of the glue and transferred it self to my sample, and it appeared like white gung everywhere, how can I avoid this :?: it is now two in the morning and my poor husband is tired and wants to go to bed so I'll have to go to bed and wait till I finsh work before I can play again. It is fiddly and I kept on forgetting what to do and spent so much time wathing the video because the instructions are not as clear as they should me. You have to guess what side to print on the M paper as it does not give you a clue or tell you. It is late and if you need any more info feel free to ask, to much to write in one go. Just need to know how not to get to much of the white glue, as on a dark t.shirt its not what a client wants.

WOW is an interesting product that has taken us quite a while to get our heads round.
At first it does seem like there are sooooo many steps, but the video is helpful and after a few goes you get your head round the procedure and can crack on.
The first REALLY improtant thing is the quality of your press. It MUST be consistant temperature above 128c and below 135c even over the whole area.
Secondly, when they say COLD peel, that is what they mean, not slightly warm !!!!!
Regarding the release paper, this effects the finish texture of the final print and if used gives a nice even matt finish.
If you use silicon sheet you get a glossy finish, and if you use laser paper it is in between.
The good news is that you can change the finish by repressing with a different covering sheet and back again!
We have used t shirt transfere products for 20 years, and still find WOW a bit of a challenge, BUT - it does enable you to do jobs that otherwise you would have to say NO to.
We charge a premium for it, and it does have great feel and washablity.
Keep practicing, but expect to waste your first box getting good at it!

The other little trick is to make sure the base of your press is also hot. At the NEC TMT demo'd WOW and used a pneumatic press which remained closed whilst not pressing WOW (to ensure the base was also hot which helps WOW to work).

Our heat press is up for the job but thats a good hint about keeping it close, but it takes me so long checking the instuctions will it harm the press, I'm not fluid at it takes about 20 mins to get to stage three  but I do use fabric materail cut into squares thats the same as t.shirts. I, have sinus the last two days so nothing been done, but I'm going to do a few more samples in a couple of hours, they only give you the time for t.shirts, is the same for wallets as I have a few to waste. What about times for the other products they say you can use.
The hint below explains why I had two different textures as I did use release paper first, second time I was so stressed i forgot where I put the it so I used the silicon paper, thats where the white glue came up and it did look different
(The good news is that you can change the finish by repressing with a different covering sheet and back again!)

I've yet to try the obm.6(not sure thats how say it) still don't worry won't run before I can walk  Many thanks for those hints

the wowpress time is a bit arbitory.
They suggest 5 seconds, cold peel then an extra 15 seconds all at 130c
the reason thay say 5 secdonds cold peel is that if there is any grey snowflakes/residue etc on the fabrik it can be picked off or removed before the final press. If you are confident that you have no residue then you can go straight for the full 15second press.
At this temperature it wouldn't matter if you pressed for a minute, but why bother!
WOW is at its best when you have a dozen garments to print.
THEN, you can separate each step, and do each sequentially. that way you don't confuse each element of the process.
Each step is simple, it is just that there are quite a lot of steps!

I did a polo shirt with it, I would love to say it was great, but it was crap, mind you once I used the selotape to remove the grey gunge it went from crap to terrible  , still it was a XL so there is lots of room to practise on, it can only be onwards and upwards, once again my lineing up let me down, having another go tomorrow.

I have read this would help me with lineing up but could any one simplyify as I do use photo shop but have never touch any of these tools, let alone know where they are, can any body guide me through this. Or is there so where on the net that I could follow. Would like to say thanks now for the help I have had on this subject.

"Use the magic wand tool, tolerance set to 10-20 for a clean background. Uncheck anti-alias and contiguous. After you have made the sellection and inversed use the contract option under the select menu and shrink by 1-2 pixels. This will make the mask just a little smaller and will make the registration easier."
