non sublimation items

hi guys ,are there any options of sublimation printing on to plastic that does not have a sublimation coating ,someone has asked me to print his company logo on a clear plastic box ,box is quite thick around 4mm so not thin plastic like tupperware , can i get a type of white or preferably clear coating to paint on or spray on then sublimate ,cheers guys for any help

First of all find out exactly what type of "plastic" it is. You mught get lucky and find it's already receptive to sublimation.
Assuming it's not - You can get coatings: https://www.megauk.com/sublimation/subl ... atings.php But I I've no idea how effective they are - Haven't tried them.

But you would also need to know the melting point of the plastic doesn't exceed the temperature you need to sublimate.
Also - If it's a food-related item you/he may need to send some samples to a lab and ensure there is no chemical leeching during normal use (dishwasher etc) - I may be over-cautious here but I come from a manufacturing background where we printed onto baby food products.

Please let me know how you get on as it's something I'm really interested in.
I would love to print an item I have in mind but the melting point is 80c and (at the moment) as far as I know there is no way to sublimate at that temperature.

thank john for the reply i will let you know ,i had a look on that website ,seems cheap enough to try ,the thing he wants coated is an electronic cigerette so no worries of it leaching in to a food product ,it seems cheap enough to try it
