I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but if you're looking for a new printer for sublimation, consider adding this site to your browse list: http://www.amazon.co.uk/warehousedeals

It's Amazon's outlet.

Today I stumbled across an open-box B40W for £71 (normally £96 new, or £115 RRP). I'm actually looking for a new A3 but I want to do some experiments with a 4-colour system before I decide on B1100 vs 1400 and, at £71, I couldn't let it go even if the B40W is just A4.

I've no idea if it'll be any good, being open-box, but it will at least be enough for testing. I'll know for sure when it turns up.

They don't have any B40W or B1100 printers on the site right now, but they do have a 1400 for £208 (usual price £260, or £320 RRP).

These aren't completely new/sealed, so check the warranty/smallprint before parting with your cash. I'm offering no recommendations here because mine hasn't arrived yet but I'm sure that, with a little bit of savvy, there are savings to be made.

An update to this -

My B40W arrived today (Saturday) although I only paid standard £2.75 shipping.

As near as I can tell, the printer looks brand new. It had all of its scratch-protection plastic all over it and the inks were all sealed in their vacuum packs as new. It came with an Ethernet cable (no USB cable).

I've set the printer up and done a few tests using the supplied inks (as I always do with a new printer). The photo prints look particularly good for a 4-ink printer, arguably a touch better than the 4-ink Brother AIO I bought awhile back. (Even the black & white print looks - well, black & white!)

The only sign of it being "not new" is that the box was re-taped with transparent parcel tape and there's a bash in the edge of the box which someone has taped over with the same parcel tape. Other than that, it looks like a nice little bargain at £25 cheaper than a new one would have been. I don't mind a bashed box for a £25 discount. ;)

I'll be putting Artanium inks in it for testing over the next few days.

I've had a couple of electronic items for home from this outlet and just as JSR, they've been retaped boxes but essentially brand new.
