Re: epson xp-312 issues

Post by shabby geek »

Hi we have just bought a second hand epson xp-312 printer it was previously used as a sublimation printer by a print company.
we are having issues with a few things.
1. the refill cartridges are not being recognised as full after the first refill the printer won't print as it sees the cartridges as being low even when full, not sure if this is a chip problem or if there is something we can do software wise?
2. when the printer was printing prior to refill the images were very faded looking and not anywhere near as vibrant as the pics on the p.c and when they were pressed on to shirts they were really pale.
i'm presuming as this has been used as a sublimation printer that it should be ready to work as it had been for the previous owner??
any help you guys can give would be much appreciated as we are kind of lost here
Thanks.

1. Many types or cart some are auto reset, some need a chip resetter and some need all to be taken out and then all replaced.
2. Have you loaded the correct ICC profile.

the icc profile is something that i was wondering about i know you can have custom ones made but shouldn't the printer already have one as it was already a sub printer or is there some way i can see if it's using the correct one? sorry complete noob at all this.

It's on the computer not the printer...... ask the seller.

that makes sense so i won't have the icc profile as i don't have the sellers p.c and if he doesn't reply to me then i will need to get one made is that correct? and also how much difference would having the correct icc make?
I'm presuming a lot of difference?

No, the Canon printers aren't suitable for sublimation. It's all to do with the heads and the way they use heat etc.
