In Corel if you want to cut an outline you add a CONTOUR - for printing you can also use outline (outline is bitmap only) but remember that an outline will straddle the actual line so effectively making your letter/object thinner, use 'behind fill' in the dialogue box to correct this - you cannot cut an outline unless you use convert outline to object which will convert it to vector but may need some welding or breaking apart to get desired effect.
Later versions of Draw allow contour to have rounded corners, previously this was only an option with outline.
