thanks for the link im looking on that website now.
i know the inks are a good brand its just setting up my printer and maybe choosing a better quality sublimation paper, wish i had of looked into this earlier fell like a bit of a fool

ive just spent £1k and find out my printer isnt actually best suited for the job
so i have everything here 54 mugs, 40 phone cases, tshirts, 200ml of each colour ink and my little printer is being an arse

Oh dear, £1k and they've supplied you with that printer as part of the package? Thy're not supposed to have supplied you with those inks for use in small format and they'll know that. I'd seriously go back and get the printer and inks refunded...if not everything else!

The only reason for using those inks is because they're so much cheaper than Sawgrass inks, it sounds to me like you've paid top price though. That's a £44 retail price printer and the inks shouldn't have cost much in those (unauthorised) quantities.

If they are good quality professional bulk inks which have been rebottled into smaller quantities, then they should have only cost about £10 per 100ml, £20 at the most depending on delivery and the VAT status of the seller.

a £44 printer isn't great for basing your business around. if your inks are the ones I'm guessing they, in my experience they're better than what Sawgrass' consumer division has to offer.
Get the carts primed and you shouldn't have any ink flow problems.

kendog, I would do a nozzle check (in printer maintenance) if one or more colours is not printing the full pattern then as recommended prime the cartridges. The easiest way of doing this iv'e found is to remove the bung where you fill the carts and put it in the air breather hole then take a syringe (without the needle) press the end into the filling hole and press gently to pressurise the cartridge (you should be able to feel slight pressure on the syringe) then gently remove the bung from breather hole. leave it to stand for a couple of hours and try printing.
I must say it does look like you have been overcharged for your kit and i'd be tempted to try for a refund on it. I use an epson that cost a fraction of yours, when it works it's good but I will probably change for Ricoh when funds allow.

Sorry I cant blame anyone here as I sourced the items separately
its up to me to do the research.
however I purchased the from a seller who was selling it with a complete kit that's why I thought it was suitable for the task
cost me £130 for printer and 4x100ml bottles of ink then a further £70 for another 4 bottles.

I've done a nozzle check but I haven't purged the carts using syringe so that's next on my list
if and when I get some money I will nr upgrading printer asap

well a little update

ive fixed my printer issue. basicly bought a ciss system and used the supplied syringes and got the carts primed knocked the printer into high quality and matt paper now she is printing perfect - prints actually look like photographs.

now my other problem is - this mini 3d vacuum machine is an absolute pile of rubbish, the green sleaves you use to fit the cups doesnt pull the top of the sublimation paper tight against the mug so i get what looks like blurred edge im guessing this is from the fan inside getting inbetween the paper and cup.

going to try it with phone casses if it cant do that then its good for the bin
