Hi guys. If I take a picture of a record that I own, am I allowed to print and distribute it? If I go to a match and take pics of players can I? Basically, if someone sends me there own pics can I do the same?
Cheers

No and No. First one is counterfeiting, second one will have rules to prevent you from doing this. On the back of your ticket it will say no cameras.

Cheers Gary. I don't see how its counterfeit as its a picture of something I own, so its genuine. How does that work?

Go buy a tee shirt with a one direction image on it..... Copy it and start selling them.

I think the deal comes with a free holiday at her majestys pleasure plus some huge fine and loss of all your worldly possessions or something along those lines.

Hi Spike,

The record sleeve will have an image with copy rights as will the center label of the record, hence you can't distribute copy righted images

If you just want to photograph a record without the center label, (it's probably not what you are looking to do), I can't see where the problem in that would be

But what if I use say a Tamla Motown label, with a song and band that were never on that lable? Also its a 50 year ols label if that makes a difference.

Copyright lasts for the lifetime of the Artist + 70 years

I don't know about the legal aspect of bands not actually on a particular label, someone more knowledgeable need to answer that one

Correct, but Spike is also wanting to copy the Tamla Motown label. big no no and would be exactly the same as copying the Coca Cola logo. Regardless of anything else.

What about old pictures? Say a portrait of Byron, Shakespeare etc?
