Hi Guys

Just placed an order with TMT for some Soldark, after chatting for a while it turns out that they have an abundance of narrow rolls of Soldark that they are selling off cheap.

This stuff is 270mm wide, 25 meters long and they are selling them off at £40.00 a roll. Most printable vinyl is roughly £4.60 a meter, this stuff works out at £3.20 so a lot cheaper!

Many of us can recommend Soldark as a good quality print vinyl so grab a bargain while you can :-)

Hummmm.... Not overly impressed yet:-

Tried using the TTRH profile:-

If I print Color Chart 1 with max impact PR10K to PR17K AND PR23K to PR46K are so wet when they come out of the printer that they are still wet and run in to each other. Same with DP30K to DP45k and DG31K to DG37K and DK30K to DK43K, most of the STxK row get rounded corners. It's the red's that seem worst.

Just tried the THT profile..... same result.
Now tried the FTRH profile.... more scrapped Soldark

Arfermo

There is something very wrong with your machine if it is doing that, either the settings are out or there is a problem with the head. I would stop printing and telephone Roland technical to see what the issue is as it should not print like it is.

To me it looks like either the resolution is way too high or you are printing on the wrong side of the roll.

No problems on any other media, vinyl, window cling or any of the C-Print range of textile films but it hates soldark. LOL yes printing on the correct side.

If you want ArferMo, ping over your settings in Versaworks and I will check them against mine as there is no way it should be like that.

If your settings are the same then I would contact Roland.

Just to be 100% clear, it is Soldark and not 123 flex. Really do not want to come across as patronizing or condescending just want to check the obvious from a distance :-)

Already in contact with Roland and they advise editing the ink percentage in the TTRH profile, which I have tried.
Initial TTRH was C 85%, M 100%, Y 85%, K 95%
Knocked them down to C 85%, M 185%, Y 85%, K 85% and still flooding on Color Chart 1.
Max ink limit was set to 190% still 190%
Process colour was 365% ( 85 + 100 +85 +96) now reading 340% (85 +85 + 85 + 85)

What settings are you using

The bill from TMT says: 1.00 SOLDARK/W Soldark White Solvent Printable PU Vinyl Roll.

Not sure the res of your image is too low to read I can see that you use the default of Pre-press US where as I tend to use Max Impact.
