Re: Promotional Merchandise

Does anyone supply promo items, i.e. keyrings, enamel badges, pens etc? I'm tendering for some local work and whilst I can supply many items sublimated I'll need access to other things. I've bought through promotional companies before but wondered if I can get a better deal or if anyone has an arrangment with such a company?

I know most of the decent trade suppliers out there. If you new some specifics on quantities, style etc. I could probably tell you where are the best options.

Cheers Andrew. I used to buy for my last company through promo companies, pens, enamel badges and so on. After I left the boss claims that he now deals direct with a manufacturer/supplier and get a huge discount on the prices we used to pay. Not sure if this is true.

Most promo companies add about 40% on to the printer/manufacturer cost so there is a saving to be made. Many will only supply trade promo customers.

Sounds about right, I guess he may have got one of these deals direct, not sure how.

Some of the companies that state "Trade Only" don't check to much into things. If you say you are buying for another company that you supply they probably will be more than happy to make a sale.

What should I be searching for to find these companies? promo gifts etc? Would Alibaba or similar site be worth a search?

All depends which items you want and whether you have enough volume to buy from China and can be bothered with the extra work. I could probably give you a European contact and Far East all depending on what exactly the requirements are. There are loads of suppliers out there catering for high end, low end, volume, short runs, and so on. Let me know the rough volumes and items you are after and I'll see if I have a decent contact for them to pass on.
