Hi ,
My wife and daughter in law are looking at setting up a small business doing Vinyl wall art and printing /vinyl on to t-shirts and sports ware.

The question I need to ask is what sort of set up will they need to buy to accomplish this ?
We have been looking at the cheap options on ebay and after reading this forum decided to not to go down that route and stretch the budget ,
we are going to spend around the £1000 mark and hopefully manage to get a heat press that will do t-shirts ,caps , mugs and plates and a vinyl plotter/cutter we may also need a new printer as the epson pro 3800 that i have is going to cost to much to convert ( and i print photos on it ) . Is buying a 3d ST-3042 worth putting into the mix ?( will this be good enough to do the t-shirts , thats printed and vinyl ?)

on the short list at the moment is the starter set at Monster Doodle ( any comments on this )
PixMax™ Da Vinci Graphics Bundle Including 5 in 1 heat press, vinyl cutter, printer
http://www.monsterdoodles.co.uk/pixmax_ ... egory_id=5

Any help would be appreciated to point / steer us in the right direction , I will be joining the membership shortly as I believe there are discounts to be had .

I am quite good with the tech side of things but the mine field of copies and cheep stuff out there is a nightmare .

I hope someone will be able to help

If you are thinking of printable vinyl for the wall art then you will need another 4K or 5K on the budget.

To convert the 3880, it shouldn't be too expensive:
80ml refill cart set £45 (from Hong Kong) or £150 (from UK) both on Ebay
Bulk inks £100 for 100ml of each of the 9 colours
custom ICC profile £25 from Paul on this forum

PixMax are just unbranded cheap Chinese presses with a logo painted/printed on - used to look like they spray painted through a stencil!

You'd be better finding a good quality used UK/USA made press (Adkins Beta range, Insta or PressMech)

Dude. Type pixmax heat press in to YouTube and look at Ceri's review!!! I'd be a bit worried.

Yeah I saw that wobbly head on YouTube and mentioned that to them . I have decided to go for the pixmax 50x50 and 720 plotter to start with and work up from there ,as the work load will be slow at first

Hi

I went into sublimation with a friend and we ended up arguing, I am moving abroad and we are looking to sell what we have. We are Manchester based and if you have a read of the list see if it interests you. I can provide pictures and proof that everything is working when we get to that point. We are wanting it to go somewhere where it will be used properly and hope we can sort something out with you!

In brief it is a double platen 3D heat press.
6 printing jigs for iPhone 4 and 5 with cooling trays.
oil for machine
spare silicone
At least 500 blank cases for each model with the total number of cases closer to 1500.
Ricoh SG3100 printer with sawgrass inks
Epson p50 x2
Light box
heat gloves
heat tape
polymer paper
guillotine

That's everything related to the production process we also have lots of bits and bobs related to sublimation, if you are interested drop me a message!
