What is everyone doing about posting out lighters, my local post office owner says they may go through they may get picked up and destroyed, even if we declare, they are new unused, and have never contained fuel, if this happens there is no compensation, as we were posting a "prohibited item" he also said in declaring what was in there - they are more likely to go astray - so i am wondering if it is worth it

Probably not. I know its against the rules but it seems that if others can get away with it, how can you not? I'd just post them unmarked if it was me.

if you post them unmarked, and they are scanned, which all packets are on an increasing level - then they will be destroyed and you will get a note telling you so, you cannot get compensation as you have posted something without informing them of a "possible" prohibited item - seems to be a catch 22 going on here

How do other people post lighters then or is now pretty much forbidden on all levels? A quick search for personalised lighter on EB results in nearly 4k items.

i know thats why i was asking, i was wondering how many people were getting them out, my local post office are normally spot on with their advice, but seem stumped with a 100% way to get them delivered without issues arising

We operate Bic's sample service in the UK shipping all of their sample pens and lighters to their customers in the UK. Unfortunately all of the samples we ship have no gas due to the problems that the royal mail cause if they find out there is gas in the package. We do sell a lot of promotional lighters here, however the shipping is handled by Bic themselves direct from their factory in Spain. Bic use TNT for delivery of their lighters and all shipments are sent by road not air for obvious reasons. So TNT my be your best bet...

Thanks for that - all of mine are in the uk, just sent 20 by a bike courier and the cost..... 1 for himself lol as he was going that way anyway
