Hi all

Whats the best sublimation ink to use in the 1500w printer?

Also links to where I can buy? I already have a ciss system just need ink with profile and paper

The profiles are available free of charge and the sublimation ink brand will be Artainium.

Before i order any ink, how good is this printer? I've already got the printer but yes I've been using cheap inks and paper. What kind of print do people get? The prints arnt that good, certainly not photo quality thats for sure. Are people really getting bang on prints with this?

A4 = Ricoh SG3110 is great value for money and reliable.

I'd rather not be having to buy another printer. And surely a "1500w photo" should be photo quality. I just wondered what other peoples thoughts on the printer are?

The 1500 is fine. Cost wise you'll spend a bit more money now on the inks 6x £50 +vat compared to £235 +vat for a new SG3100 and a full set of carts. You'll have more liquid ink getting the bottles of Artainium for the 1500 but could have more challenges with a CISS compared to a closed cartridge system like the Ricoh.

If you want the most straight forward solution then the Ricoh will deliver that which is why so many customers have moved away from possible CISS problems associated with Epson printers.

I'm not sure if it is supported by sawgrass and epson's have such a reputation for clogging... I have some 1400's and 1900's here that prove that and have never had a problem with any of my Ricoh's

I haven't used it personally, but f anything, I'd imagine the 1500W should produce very good photographic prints if set up correctly. If I'm right, it's a 6 colour printer which should produce better quality photos then a 4 colour system such as the Ricoh. Of course the inks/papers you use will strongly affect this. One thing to remember, if you have been using different inks, and do decide to go the Artainium route, you may need to flush the existing ink in the printer before installing the new ones.

The 1500 is supported by Sawgrass but only if using their inks and their CISS. I don't think baracus is using a sawgrass CISS though.
