I have just made my first attempt at printing a lighter and it was a disaster. It was a chrome Longforte lighter. The press has buckled the lighter and the image is quite faint.
Should I remove the innards before printing? IF so how do I stop the press just flattening the lighter?
I used Longfortes suggested settings 190 degrees 60 seconds medium pressure

We had 4 attempts at a Longforte lighter then gave up, we couldnt get it right either so i look forward to hearing some advice too

I have had that with other suppliers as well.

In the end I put a piece of wood in there to prevent the buckling. If you have a local welder/blacksmith I would suggest getting a puck made in metal. I have never tried leaving the guts inside the lighter, but I do not see why that would not work.

Innards left in, hard pressure, 125 seconds at 190-195 degrees Celsius.

We the left the innards in ours, however, we followed Longforte instructions that say press for 60 seconds...........

the innards buckled as well when I left them in. Went with Socialgiraffe's suggestion of packing and Scotty's time,temp and pressure which worked. Just hope the customer is happy with it now

I spoke to Longforte about the time and they were adamant it needs to be 60s, we didnt want to waste another lighter so decided to try Scotty advice, 120 seconds and it worked perfectly.

Bit gutted we wasted 4 lighters following the suppliers instructions where we bought them from.

I found lighters tricky at first. But love them now. I always leave in the inners. No need to remove. I only use a medium pressure and 60 seconds has always worked great for me. I do leave them for a few seconds etc for good luck
