Re: Opencart - Customer Image Upload

Just rebuilding my site from scratch...don't ask :-(

Can anyone recommend a mod to give the option for a customer to upload their own photo? I know I have one here somewhere, maybe in the office but i'm too impatient to wait!

Also, is there a max image upload size that can be adjusted?

Would be great to have these images sent straight into my dropbox account :-)

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... r%20upload

This kind of thing may well do the job unless anyone has a better option?

Cheers, always nice to get positive feedback. I tried the demo and a 1mb upload didn't seem to be going, maybe his server.

you might need to alter one of the php files justin....if i remember right i had to do it when i first installed it to server......opencart has a upload limit on it, we it depends what version you using..i was on 1.5.3.1 at the time last yr - customers could only upload 4mb max image...and thats no good to me....its now set at 10mb

i cant remember which one it is...if you Google it, you will find it no bother....simple 10min job to do m8 then upload to your server again

Ok, found that. It was set to 30000 and I found advice to change it to 1000000.

Installed and working, however, when I upload a 1.25Mb image, it gets to 100% and then just seems to stall not showing complete :-(

Problem sorted, host company had to increase despite me changing upload sizes in php.ini :-)

Next problem.....What happens if a customer orders multiple personalised items? let's say they order 1 x Mug, no problem, they upload the photo, place order, job done. now let's say they order a mug and an MP3 sock. They upload 2 images but I have no idea which one goes on which item!

I've played around with this image upload mod. I'd prefer it on the product page but it just doesn't look right. Alternative is to put it onto the View Basket page but if customer goes directly to Checkout they bypass the upload facility!

Doing my head in tonight this is :-(

Hi JustinDid you ever sort this :) I would use the standard image uploader in OC and maybe add a note that customer have to upload the image then add to cart then do this again for each mug they are ordering.

Hi Chris, played around with a few ideas but stuck with the basic built in option in the end. Now I'm playing with Prestashop :-)
