Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the Ricoh SG3110DN for SubliJet-R sublimation printing. I see that this printer comes with cartridges rather than the ink system. I have been away from subli for a couple of years now. Has anyone on here used this printer?

How long do these ink cartridges last etc

Regards,

George

this is widely used printer in sublimation industry this days. I use it myself. Many people will confirm trouble free (to some point) running. How long will the ink last?? it all depends how much you print ;)

Hi paul,

Thanks for your quick reply. I mainly do mouse mats, coasters and mugs. I was wondering how many sheets of A4 (all color) this printer will be able to print. The tanks system I had with the Epson D120 went on for quite a few months with plenty of corporate orders.

Hi George, I've got an excellent cost per print document that Sawgrass created. It is based on a good 'typical' image. It looks at ink consumption by the sq cm and then uses that data to calculate the cost per print for popular items like phone cases, mugs, mouse mats and t shirts etc.

If you pm me your email address I will send it to you.

I am still testing my first set of inks in my 'General' 3110 (I have Two, On for Sub and another for general printing) and all of the Ink level meters on the machine have been empty for a while now.. it seems to be running on empty for a good while :) Not relevant but thought I would let you know incase anyone was running low on ink and getting worried.

The LCD display isn't particularly accurate in displaying the ink levels. You can however run a report from the printer that gives an actual percentage level:

On the printer control panel on the front of the printer:

Press Menu
Press the ˅ (down arrow) button
Select ‘List/Test Print’
Press # button
‘Config. Page’ is displayed
Press # button

The printer will now print a 2 page report. If you look through the report you can see the ink remaining levels and also how full the waste ink collector is.

I've attached a picture of the section in the report.

Paul
