Hi guys,
Not sure this is the place to post this but ....
We've received an enquiry for printed mugs. They would like us to print on the inside of the mug too - just some text around the top.
Are there any 'tools', mug presses or whatever that can help do this?
Regards
john

Short answer... Nope
If you want to dye sub the inside of the mug would have to be coated, most mugs are turned upside down to coat meaning the inside gets nothing.
Only methods are screen print or water decal with a traditional kiln.

You can sublimate the plastic mugs on the inside using a 3D press and a mold.

I'm guessing these are the polyester mugs using a 'puck' inside? Probably okay for kids but .......
Thanks

... and for prisoners! We sell these to HMP because they don't smash and then have sharp edges

You possibly could print these inside with the standard puck method and heat press. The puck will create the temperature and conduct the heat. We have done this with phone cases in the oven...... printing the inside of the case at the same time as outer. Worth a try. And by the way John, the plastic mug looks the same as a standard subli mug, just lighter and doesn't break....... and costs a lot more.

Cheers all and Andrew, it all sounds to much hassle for me!
Yesterday we took on an urgent job to print 120 caps for NATO - wish we hadn't, took much longer than we anticipated and still have about 4 hours to go!

I have some plastic mugs and a puck here (25 miles further west) if you wanted to do some. Never really bothered with them myself.

Not ceramic though as the inside of a mug is not coated.
I did hear through the grapevine that a well known heat press manufacturer and well known mug supplier are working on something, so hopefully this question will be a thing of the past soon!
