A bit confused at the moment.. I was looking to use 8.5" x n" paper for printing card jigsaws. Currently I have to cut about 2mm from each end to fit the maximum print size on the 3110 (using BMS+ sized paper). The supplied paper tray cannot be extended so max is A4. Conde have a video that shows 8.5 x 14 being selected on a 3110 with the standard tray, not the expensive paper input tray with a fold down front. I don't understand this.

Video here: video

So.... I have just tried feeding a piece of 8.5 x 14 into the tray with the excess poking out the front between the lower tray and collector tray. A couple of bits of plastic lift the collector tray a few mm to allow the paper free passage, no problems. I may modify the paper tray by milling a few mm off the top to create a slot. Naturally this will only allow feeding a few sheets at a time but will save around £200.

It seems that the additional trays under the printer can handle longer paper. The presenter implied that the normal tray can do this when running through the size options. No matter, A3 paper from Subli winging its way to me so all is well.
