I going into doing phones but due to my age ( very old )have no idea which ones to due or where to get them from. I know its a big selection but I hope to be doing this in a big way, so any suggestions on which phone covers or backs would be truly appreciated plus a one stop shop in one place would be easier

Greetings Jennywren,

The sheer number of options and the rate at which the models change can make this difficult to keep up to date with.

We typically find we get most demand for each manufactuer's previous model (this tends to be the one which most people have). The most popular cases offered by us are for the iPhone 5, iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S4. The rubbarised plastic versions have a higher perceived value than their plastic alternatives, and the black colours age better than the white. Type these product codes in to our Trade Supplies website: SSG40, IPC5, IPK01.

Depending on who your market is, the IP5W offers a premium alternative in the iPhone 5 range.

Have a good weekend.

Hi Jenny,

If you are just getting into this then anything Apple sells! To put this into context, I've just been away on holiday and I'd say that 80% of children had iPhones. Some had Samsungs but by far and away the most popular phones are iPhones. Black cases sell much more than white cases but you're bound to get enquiries from all sorts of phone owners. The phones are extremely simple to print as all you do it print onto a piece of metal and this fixes to the back of the phone.

Most suppliers will stock the basic black and white plastic versions. There are rubber ones, horizontal flip and vertical flip cases (looks like leather effect), clear ones and some suppliers will stock all sorts of colours. Give the customer too much choice though and they won't impulse buy!

I'd recommend you start with the black cases - iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 and a few of the Samsung S4 and S5. They are cheap enough and you can buy these singularly from most suppliers to keep stock holding low.

That alone is very good advice, and something I need to look into.

I would say more choice can sometimes be better, we get emails all the time asking us if we can get certain colours, styles etc in stock.

I reply advising that if the demand is high or it's a bulk order we would then stock the item. If you have a Facebook page why not put a poll on asking your customer what they would like to see stocked on your website

I agree with give as much choice as possible. BUT it depends on your website and how you construct it. If you look at Vistaprint, Amazon, Tesco or pretty much any of the really big online retailers they have a huge selection, but the site has been constructed in a very clever way and that is almost as important as making sure you have good SEO. As long as you can stock it (space, finances etc etc) there really isn't any issue with stocking every type of phone case available as long as your website design is built in such a way that directs the customers correctly.

For example, do not have 2D and 3D as two different options, but instead break it down by phone model. Far better as the iphone 5 user will only need to look in one place to see what choices he has.

Lastly, if you are going to do phone cases in a "BIG" way, in my opinion you will need to have 3D capabilities.
