Afternoon folks hope your all enjoying your Saturday,

If your aware of the Adkins Beta range of presses (old school) they came with 2 pucks to keep the mug off the bottom of the press, one for the durham style mug and another for the slimmer porcelain mugs.

My question is what else can be used instead of the puck?, I have always thought the pucks are to high and i think contribute to the difficulty doing top to bottom printing, If the puck was slimmer in height then a mug would be centralised in the blanket making results more consistent.

So what could be use instead of a puck?.

piece of scrap mdf should do the job, might smell a bit at first but that should soon clear. I had a gas wall heater with a sheet of asbestos based material behind it as a heat shield for the wall (old mobile classroom). When the heater was replaced I had the asbestos sheet removed. The new heat shield was a sheet of MDF!
