Hi Guys
Im thinking of starting keyrings to go along side our mugs and was wondering does anybody have any experience in doing them? Im looking to find out what printer would you advise on using to keep ink costs down and also how do people get around paper wastage if they only have one or two small orders coming in at a time? Thanks in advance for any feedback

intaprintuk is the cheapest I have found for acryllic stuff

you can get away with the cheapest paper and ink possible on these as they are behind plastic. So all you would need to do is cut your paper down to the smallest size your printer will hold.

I do 1000's of these (just had a quick look and am at 18,000 this year already) and use a cheap OKI 301, but only because that is the printer that happens to be on my desk at the moment, I have used a kodak ink jet, a hp ink jet, and if the job requires pin point registration I have even used my Roland which cuts them after printing.

Hi Social, Thanks for the info, really appreciate it. My thoughts were because it would be a new line I wasn't sure on how popular they would be so didn't really want to invest too much at the start. Judging by your sales, they seem very popular. and it seems they can be produced on a relatively cheap budget. When you say about using the cheapest paper, would that be glossy photo paper or normal office paper? Thanks again for your reply

I use 80GSM paper but you may want to increase that to 100GSM on the basis that 80 does have show through. As my keyrings are always full colour it doesn't matter.

You can purchase as little as 100 units. I normally purchase in the 1000's and they are about 11p each plus VAT.
