I'm thinking of getting some silicone vacuum moulds for short glass and mugs.

I have noticed watching them being demode that when the vacuum is applied they get large creases down the sides and I wondered if this would affect the final print quality due to uneven pressure.

Yes, the crease affects the print. I printed a mug and had this problem, you need to stretch the mould as it tightens. It's usually if the moulds too big.
