I picked up one of these when they were on sale recently and would like to know is the construction really that bad? The handle section wobbles from side to side, when you clamp down the handle, the whole top of the press including the control unit rises up. Nothing is smooth, everything wobbles and to top it off the base isn't even so it requires some cardboard to level it up. Should this be returned or is this what I paid for?

it was this one:

It was cheap but great little machine. All solid and no unwanted movements so, i would definitely contact coral graph and ask them for checking it out for you or replace.

Echo Pauls comments as I have the same machine and it works just fine.

I've contacted them, but it is after their 14 day return policy, but let's see how good their after sales support is?

14 days is (IMO) irrelevant in your case...........their web site says:
  • 1 year warranty
  • Unlimited lifetime support

Remember you get what you pay for! if you buy cheap it will be cheap so don't expect a roller for the price of a Kia! also if it does the job you want it to then you did get a result for the price?

on a happy note ring Henry or drop him a email with your concerns because he will try to resolve any problems.

I have one of those that I use when playing with ideas rather than firing up one of the big presses. They are fine. I had to level my platen, 5 minutes and a few washers. Some play but nothing that causes a problem. For the money it was ideal.

Just thought I would update, Coralgraph's after sales service was first class, maybe he read this! But glad it's sorted.
