For those who want to continue using XP for whatever reason but are worried about updates etc.

that gives some re-assurance, especially since w have to keep XP on at least 1 m,achine to print to our Xerox DC12

I have a xp and I get on so well it, and was reluctant to change but I'll have read and see if I can do it, if not I'll get someone to do it for me. Thanks for link

be sure to read the article fully before trying. the updates in question are not actually specifically made for the version of windows xp that you will have. They are made for the point-of-sale version used in shops/atms/etc.
They might well work ok on your machine, but there'll be no knowing whether they'll fully protect you or not, or if they might cause any problems. Not sure if I'd risk it on a main work computer. If I was going to try it, I'd make an image of my computer before making the changes, so could go straight back to that should any major issues arise.
