Hi guys hope you are all having a good bank holiday. I have been asked to do a couple of pairs of flip flops for a local artist with her artwork on them.
The first pair were perfect but all the edges of the material lifted on the second pair. I know I should speak to my supplier but being a bank holiday I thought I would just ask if this was a known issues with these items and if there is a solution. I pressed them at 190 for 55 sec with baking parchment placed over them whilst pressing. They were purchased from a supplier on here but I will not name them as I have not spoken to them yet.
They may even offer a solution on here for me.

I've heard of this with mousemats occasionally and it generally came down to the paper sticking to the outer edge of the material when it was removed. As the flip flops are container within their outer parts then this shouldn't be the case as the paper remains flat over the whole surface. Might be worth re-pressing to see if you can re-attach the material at the edge - just cover with silicon paper and press for 30 seconds.

I took the flip flops out of the larger area. This may have been my problem then.

I used a spray glue this time once they had cooled down, just remember to protect the rest of the flip flop and the edges as the spray goes everywhere.
