Hi Guys

Wondering if the experts on 3D can answer on what is the likely cause of the problem shown on the picture?

Any pointers as to what I should be increasing/decreasing or doing differently would be greatly appreciated.

Also, how do you guys cool down Galaxy Covers and keep them in shape?

What print issue are we looking at? Is the artwork not supposed to have the worn retro look and supposed to be solid block colour?

I had that happen too recently with paper. I was able to rub it off the case, so it was still usable. I think it was because it was too hot. I was trying out a different setting that was recommended to me (210 C for 300 sec). I've never had that happen before, so I think it was the increase in temp.

Hi Andrew

Its supposed to be a smooth solid colour.

I will reduce the temperature as you suggest Lola, many thanks.

Have you got a dummy phone to place this cover on to keep it in shape whilst it cools?

Hi Martin

Yes I have a dummy phone, it just seemed a bit iffy doing it that way and wondered if there was a better way :-)

Am more interested in how I combat the problem with the edges to be honest. This is the method I am using....

Heat machine to 400F
Run 1 cycle of 8 minutes with jig inside
Place blank (with print) on hot jig and run printing cycle
Item came out perfect
Place new blank on jig and repeat cycle, item comes out with nothing printed on the edges (as shown).

Hi BigJ

Am using Paper.

All sorted in the end. I am not sure what exactly was causing the problem but using the above settings gave me perfect results on a run of 40 with 1 failure. The only thing I did differently is just give the sides a gentle rub as the vacuum was increasing

I now drop the Samsungs into a bucket of water once I have fitted it to the dummy phone which works well.

Would be interested in what settings people are using for the gold film though

Yes, although mine is black.

Got is secondhand from someone who purchased it from BMS but could not figure out how to get decent results. He was a complete novice so it came as no surprise.

Personally I think the machine is superb.
