Re: Gift Vouchers with Envelopes
Cheers for that
Still debating if I can produce something professional enough using my Oki laser or if I'm better just to buy.
Re: Gift Vouchers with Envelopes
I have produced several items from my oki. From both the c5700 and the c830, The main problems I encountered were:
Getting the printer to accept custom sizes (took an age) but finally nailed it
Getting paper that size and aligning the print correctly
Finding the correct weight and finish of paper
Getting paper of the right weight that would duplex
Using standard size and cutting to finished size accurately
Getting accurate registration for hot foiling because of erratic cutting (I don't have a commercial guillotine any more)
Match the icm for correct colour
When you finally sort that out then you'll want to auto-number; I used corel to auto-number the tickets when they printed as in this video
I guess you'd have to look at the cost per page/print to get a cost comparison I calculate 50p per page for full cover a4 coverage to include electric etc. Giving 16p per voucher.
Envelopes I sourced from the paper company.
To be honest print quality wasn't an issue as long as the paper is not textured.
In the end I stuck to 280gm paper for a4 certificates and outsourced gift vouchers.
Hope this helps a bit

Re: Gift Vouchers with Envelopes
I would do that sort of thing in house. Would possibly look at a cheap inkjet (I rate the Kodaks for versatility, cost and quality) and then set the file up in InDesign.

Got the file all setup, just deciding whether to have a go with it or farm out. I'd like a perforated edge on the stub, I know the cameo does this but as David mentions above, it's all about lining up

Get a hand perforator from somewhere like PRESCO, they work well, alternatively you can get small trimmers know that also perforate.
