Two things in life that are certain, death and taxes, and the former was certainly true for a friend of mine recently.

Now I post this not because I want condolences or anything but because another friend of my dead friend took an image of him and his wife from Facebook and had it printed on a hot water bottle so she could cuddle him every night (If you are like me you will now need ten minutes to control your laughter).

The widower posted a picture of the water bottle on FB (at this point I was almost crying!!!), and here is the amazing thing, so far she has received 30 comments all positive about the product and how it is such a good idea. I appreciate that you are not going to see any negative comments on there, but 30 people thought it was brilliant.

So, how would you market this?

perhaps www.celebratethedead.com might be a good domain name to register and then you could put all sorts of crap, sorry I mean loving keepsakes, on there.

So what else could you market, forget the boring seen it all before photo slates etc, lets have some really bizarre ideas.....

on a pillow case so you can cry into (I'm going to hell I know) but you started it.

I'll leave it at that, but will continue this dark humour by watching Dexter on Netflix instead.

I have just recently lost my grandad and actually this has made me giggle.. because my grandad was a huge fan of a medicinal tipple.. and his image on a bottle or shot glass would be his way of saying he was still enjoying it..

I don't think it's wrong to assume that you could do that on a brolly.. to have them save you from the rain !!
I also thought of the pillow idea.. and will join you down there *least it will be warm*
A towel so people can still have them wrap their arms around them..
A duvet set.. to still sleep with them..
and so on ....

If i could give you more rep points then i would for stRting this tread up.
as dead is very touchy subiect for most of us, but for other, most inbolved people is not. They will miss their partners, parent or kids that died. So there is a market for us.
I know this sounds like all is about money but someone has to do it. Let them keep best memories for as long as possible.

i recently was approched by fellow photogrApher and asked if i would be interested to start photographing parents with they babies that died soon after they been born. This is free work but this make me think that people do need this kind of services for many reasons and there is no reason why we wouldn't fill this gap.

I have on more than one occasion been asked to take photographs at a funeral. When I asked more questions they said well we then have a full record of their life from cradle to the grave!

Morning,

Sorry not to be too out of the box here but I thought I would share a gift I made.
I printed a relative (angry stepmom) a chopping board with my face on so she could cut the vegetables whilst also taking out her frustrations.
It went down well and saves me some trouble!

Well.. after having the phone call today that my gran has just passed also.. I think these kinds of gifts could actually be fantastic for those who can't get to the funeral etc.. my immediately family all live abroad.. and think something with an image of them both on would be great to send over to Australia other than the usual slate etc..
