Got a sample of the new CPM printed mug from TMT today and have to say it's very impressive!

It's a black mug printed full colour with a good white area as well. Print is clear and crisp and white is good with no bleed through.

These mugs are scratch and dishwasher proof and i'm sure will prove very popular, especially for anyone who currently owns the white toner system.

Anyone else seen them yet?

Heard about them but seeing them on Sunday as I could not get down before then. From my understanding, they are also available in any pantone colour.

I agree plus lead times and MOQ are important, especially pantone specific mugs. As you know I work in music merchandise so it could be a game changer (already has been to be honest without the new mug), but it all depends on the price points for me.

I am loving TMT's innovation at the moment, I have shopped around for comparable products and nothing I have found quite reaches the standard they have achieved.

Roll on Sunday (for me not you Justin LOL!!!!)

Haven't seen an actual sample but seen the photos. Don't get why the mugs are so expensive though as it is a similar process in producing them to sublimation. £1.80 + vat each on box price. If they could get these prices down below the £1 mark then I am sure many current sub users would add this type of printer onto their setup. Print is not at the subli level but it is good enough to run with.

Ive tried them. There is a lot to learn about printing them but once mastered its great but not as good as subli.
Printed colours are not as vibrant as subli when you use the normal colour pallette. You have to use a pure CMYK or Pantone pallette and even then the colours dont shout at you.
And the time in the press is a lot longer, 6 to 8 mins sometimes.
Price, I charge the customer more.

Hi Earl

Once they have been pressed and peeled, do you have to clean off the excess transfer paper or does it peel perfectly?

No, you have to put it in water to cool down then the paper has to be torn off as it sticks to the mug. Then its a good idea to use a blowtorch on the image to glaze it and make it dishwasher proof.

I have not done many as I got fed up with them and had too many other things to do at work.

Seems a very drawn out process.....too much of a faff about for me. I'll stick to sub methinks.
