hey all
been given a dual mug press and 2 printers.
so gonna try mug sublimation but not sure which of the printers is the best to use if either.
printer 1 - Epson Stylus Office B1100 (A3/A4)
printer 2 - Ricoh Aficio GX E3300N
i understand i would need to purchase a CIS for the epson to use sublimation inks but the Ricoh i can buy Sublijet ink.
which would be better to use or should i sell them and invest in something newer?
any help or advice welcomed.
thanks in advance
beccie

As a rule for someone starting out Ricoh will be an easier option to live with.

Ricoh by far the better of the two for this...but has it been used for anything previously?

yes the ricoh has been used for sublimation printing. it has sublijet ink cartridges in but they need replacing.

I'd be checking on the warranty status of the printer before forking out for more Sawgrass ink. Sawgrass' ink prices include a warranty on the printer, as the Ricoh one is void by using sublimation inks. If the printer is out of its 12 month Sawgrass warranty, then you will be paying for a warranty that you can't use by buying more Sawgrass inks for it.

thanks for the advice.
the printer is out of warranty as its a couple of years old.
so basically you are saying that if i buy more ink and something goes wrong then i have no cover from sawgrass.
so the only way round this would be to buy a new printer??
