Hi

I've been looking for some 11oz sublimation mugs which have coloured insides. There are some on ebay, but a friend suggested using "ali baba" or "ali express" to source them straight from manufacturer in China.

Does anyone have any experience with sites like there - or can you recommend any particular sellers?

I've asked a few UK sellers but no-one seem sot sell any straight forward 11oz straight sided mugs!

Thank you,
Matt.

There are hundreds of Chinese sellers - you take your chances by buying direct. If you want a specific mug type then contact the suppliers on the DSF and see which of those can help. The bigger suppliers will have regular containers of stock leaving their suppliers and can include a quantity of special order mugs on their shipment. You'll need to act quickly if you want anything to leave before the Chinese New Year though.

I agree with Martin, Someone will have what you need in stock. Dealing with Ali baba has always seemed like a daunting thing to me so I have not bothered.

In any case, is there not a minimum order limit ? what happens if you get a case of bad ones - where do you send them back ? China ??

Basically it's a straight sided 11oz mug with colour insides (light blue, red and green) if possible. I might try some from ebay, but I worry when it's not a "online store" if you know what I mean!?

That it my main concern... most have a minimum order of 500 which would be a little too risky for me at the moment. And you don't know the quality as you said. Petrifying!! I'd much rather find someone in the UK who either imports and knows the quality is good or can do the mugs themselves.

Thanks :)

you can only just sometimes get mugs from england arriving undamaged at your door never mind china lol ,
you can import some items from china (i do) but i dont think mugs are going to be worth your time due to cost and the weight of the product you would have to get container load and the ones i have had , someone sells them on ebay from birmingham , are terrible quality ,

If you're importing, then they'll likely, due to the quantity, be on a pallet, and so less knocked around and abused than a single box of mugs.
We've imported stuff from China using Alibaba, and it was nerve racking the first time sending so much money to an unknown PayPal account, but all was good in the end, and now our sublimation mugs are custom made in Thailand.
It's all possible, but you have to take that first step...
