BMS and Sawgrass are on the problem I think, but it's been 4 weeks since I told them, so we're not getting anywhere fast... So wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

I got my printed back in August I think, and it has always printed this way, and presumed it was normal, until someone told me otherwise!

All the prints have dots across them, when they're printed on to the paper, and when transferred to tags. I'm using Photoshop CS3, all the colour settings are as instructed, and the images are 300ppi. We even tried printing block colour from windows paint, and it still had these dots, so it's not the image file... They're on everything. It doesn't matter when I'm printing ribbon, you don't see it, but you can definitely see it on the tags

Ignore the mottled black, that's a completely different press issue lol

Are you printing using PowerDriver, or Photoshop and an ICC?

If you print using the standard Ricoh driver with the ICC in Photoshop, are the images still grainy with the same image?

I sent the image file over to a friend to print, and it printed the same at her end  It's very strange...

I'll try with the standard drivers next time I'm in the office, thanks.

Moisture?
Mottling can be due to moisture, I have even had aluminium panels mottle.
But if it prints the same on another printer I am at a loss.

it's worth going through the head cleaning procedure too.. I had a issue with mine similar, one clean run all sorted, my machine is only about 2 months old and hasn't done much work.

The mottled black isn't the issue, it's the pink dots that get printed on to everything. On the nozzle check I did have a fuzzy bit, and head cleaning (x4) got rid of that, but the issue remains. Like I said, I sent the image file to a friend, and it printed the same at her end  But then it also prints these dots in a different art package, so it can't be Photoshop! It's very odd lol
