Ok, call me stupid but.... I'm totally new and very green regarding dye sub but i fancy having a go at a few mugs etc; I do have a mug press that came with my t shirt press but dont want to spend hundreds on a dye sub printer just yet. Is it possible for me to get someone with a printer to print the paper for me then mail it to me or does the ink not fully dry !! If so i could buy a few mugs and have a mess around with them.
Also regarding ovens would it be possible to use the silicone wrap things that are used in 3d ovens and put the mugs in a normal household oven. ok call me stupid !!

Mal

Regarding mug wraps have a look at this site, i have just being looking for more mug wraps for myself as i use a oven also
http://www.merlintransfers.com/dye-sub- ... -583-p.asp
i think silcone wraps will just be as effective as long as the image is flat against the mug :)

i cant help with the paper, i think if they was mailed in one of those keep fresh bags i wouldnt see an issue
but i am also new so wait for someone who knows more :)

Hi Designandgift, That looks a really useful site thank you, they are the kind of wraps i was thinking of and their price for a ricoh a4 printer seems reasonable as well. Tempted with that but i'd have to sneak it in while the missis was out lol.

I've printed quite a lot of large format sublimation transfers for other companies in the past and posted them out in postal tubes, never had any complaints on the quality of them, only compliments for how good they are.
Not writing this to be an advert, more to say that transfers can be made by others and posted no problems.

(I took my advert down as I had too many people wanting me to print white, or do their design work from scratch for free, or wanted me to hunt around Google images for what they wanted)
